16th Latin American Arbitration Conference

Our associate, Fernanda Almada, took part in the 16th CONFERENCIA LATINOAMERICANA DE ARBITRAJE (CLA), one of the leading gathering spaces for the region's arbitration community, held at the School of Law of the University of Buenos Aires.
 
During the conference, specialists from various countries analyzed the trends and challenges shaping the evolution of commercial and investment arbitration, fostering a valuable exchange of experiences and perspectives.

Paraguay Business Fair 2026

As part of FEPY 2026, our partner Manuel Acevedo Scappini took part in the talk “Evolution of Paraguay's Energy System: The Future of Major Projects,” organized by CIE S.A., alongside leading figures in the sector.

The event addressed the main challenges and opportunities associated with the transformation of the national energy system, including the evolution of the energy mix, investment opportunities, and the impact of major infrastructure projects on the country's industrial, economic, and social development. It also highlighted the importance of strengthening human capital, technology, and the regulatory framework as fundamental pillars to support this process.

Fintech Talks: The Age of Digital Payments

We took part in Fintech Talks: “The Age of Digital Payments,” organized by the Cámara Paraguaya de Fintech.

During the event, we discussed Law No. 7503 on the National Payments System and the resulting regulations, a key framework for modernizing Paraguay's digital financial ecosystem, with a focus on security, efficiency, interoperability, transparency, and oversight.

Our associates María Belén Rodríguez León, Lie Kawamura Ruiz and Alejandra Aguilar Marin took part as speakers and shared their analysis of the main changes introduced by the law, the role of the Central Bank of Paraguay, the challenges facing Payment Service Providers, interoperability in digital payments, the use of electronic means, and the new rules applicable to book-entry securities.

We thank the Cámara Paraguaya de Fintech for creating these spaces for dialogue and exchange with the different players in the ecosystem, which contribute to the development of a more modern, secure, and coordinated payments system.

ASIPI Asunción 2026

Our team took part in ASIPI Asunción 2026, one of the region's most important gatherings on intellectual property, which brought together professionals and international leaders to exchange perspectives on the challenges and trends shaping the intersection of law, sports, and entertainment

Representing the firm were our partner Manuel Acevedo Scappini and our associate Grecia Florentín, who took part in an agenda focused on technical exchange, professional development, and strengthening ties with colleagues from different jurisdictions.

These gatherings continue to establish themselves as a key opportunity to share experiences, strengthen relationships, and keep driving conversations on the evolution of intellectual property in an increasingly dynamic and global environment.

Specialized Training on Investigating Economic Crimes and Illicit Financial Flows through Corporate Transparency

Last week, our associates Belén Ayala and Lie Kawamura Ruiz took part in the “Specialized Training on Investigating Economic Crimes and Illicit Financial Flows through Corporate Transparency,” organized by Paraguay's Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The event brought together representatives from the private sector, with money laundering as the central focus of analysis. It provided an opportunity to exchange experiences and strengthen capabilities in transparency, compliance, and the prevention of economic crimes. It was also a great opportunity to learn firsthand about the progress of the recently implemented SIARA platform.
