Perla Alderete participated as a speaker to discuss remote work in Paraguay in episode 12th “Revolución 4.0 Nuevas Formas de Trabajo – Teletrabajo en Argentina, Chile, Paraguay, Brasil, Uruguay y Bolivia”, of the podcast "Asuntos Laborales," organized by the renowned Employment Law Alliance (ELA). The speakers gave their comments and perspectives on the impact that the 4.0 revolution is having on organizations, on how it has influenced new forms of work for both employers and employees, and pointed out the existing regulations for remote working in their respective countries.
In this regard, Perla Alderete spoke about the details in the form of implementation of remote work in Paraguay through the Sanitary Emergency Law enacted in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and its regulations, and highlighted the arising challenges to combine the privacy of the worker with the power of control of the employer and with respect to computer security in remote work. She also spoke about online, offline and mixed remote work modalities and highlighted the flexibility that exists in terms of the length of the working schedule as long as the cap of working hours established in the Labor Code is respected.
